Adopting cloud computing is critical to our military maintaining our technological advantage. Our nation’s warfighters deserve the most innovative and secure solutions at the tactical edge—whether on land, in air, or at sea. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud provides secure, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions that help agencies meet mandates, drive efficiencies, increase innovation, and secure mission-critical workloads across the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). That’s why the DoD trusts AWS.
We’ve developed a number of programs focused on engaging the military community, helping them gain valuable AWS technical skills, and develop successful careers. Our recruiting teams engage military members, veterans, and spouses through referrals, organizations, and events to identify candidates whose skills align to open positions. In collaboration with state and federal government, veterans’ organizations, and educational institutions, our skills gap training and apprenticeship programs help transitioning service members and spouses. We support them in developing skills to prepare for AWS software development, support and data center operations roles.
AWS Educate supports U.S. veterans, transitioning military personnel, and their spouses with access to the cloud resources needed to pursue jobs in the high-demand cloud computing space. AWS Educate provides U.S. veterans access to AWS Promotional Credit, cloud computing resources, and the option to learn skills based on a desired career path.
Once military community members join AWS, there’s a robust network of veterans, family members, and supporters here to assist them through our Amazon Warriors affinity group. This organization provides an internal network for those who have served and offers career development and social programs to help veterans and family members who are transitioning into our workforce succeed.
